Acceptable Use Policy

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. It exists so that one customer cannot ruin the service, or the server reputation, for everyone else.

What you must not host with us

• Anything unlawful under the law of England and Wales.
• Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights.
• Child sexual abuse material, or content that sexualises minors in any way.
• Content inciting violence, terrorism or hatred against a group of people.
• Malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive people into giving up credentials or money.
• Unlicensed regulated activity — for example financial services, gambling or prescription medicines — without the licence the law requires.
• Bulk unsolicited email sent from, or advertising, a site we host.

What you must not do to the platform

• Attempt to access another customer's site, files or data.
• Run crypto-mining, or processes deliberately designed to consume a shared server's resources.
• Use the domain search to harvest availability data in bulk, or to register names in bad faith against someone else's trade mark.
• Probe, scan or attempt to breach our systems.

Resource use

Plans are sold for ordinary small-business websites. If one site starts affecting others on the same server, we will contact you and work out a fix — moving you to dedicated resources if that's what it takes. We will not silently throttle you without saying so.

How we enforce this

In most cases we email you and give you a reasonable chance to put it right. Where the law requires it, or where leaving content up would cause immediate harm — phishing, malware, or illegal material — we may suspend a site immediately and tell you afterwards. Every suspension is logged, with a reason, and you can appeal it by replying to us.

Reporting abuse

If a site we host is breaching this policy, email abuse@embassyhost.com with the address and what you have seen. We monitor that inbox and act on genuine reports.
